Highest international recognition in Neurosciences
The Cajal Institute grants the highest international distinction in the area of neuroscientific research: the Cajal International Diploma.
This award, created in 1988 with the purpose of contributing to the visibility, promotion and dissemination of studies on the brain, distinguishes and rewards the work of the most outstanding researchers in the field of Neurosciences, serving as support, impulse and recognition to the dedication, work and achievements of the most eminent neuroscientists.

Este galardón se concede a propuesta de un Comité Internacional de Selección integrado por la presidencia del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), la dirección del Instituto Cajal, representantes de las principales asociaciones y entidades internacionales de Neurociencia y los editores de las revistas de investigación con mayor impacto especializadas en este ámbito.
The award ceremony takes place during an institutional ceremony held at the headquarters of the Cajal Institute in Madrid (Spain), in which the winners offer a keynote talk (Cajal Lecture on Neuroscience).
